Greetings!

Please take a moment to forward to your circles of friends this 
announcement of the Program Coordinator / Fellow position for Coalition 
to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia (CAMSA). CAMSA has been operating 
in Malaysia since April 2008 and has so far rescued close to 4,000 
victims, including over 3,000 Vietnamese; secured close to US $1 million 
in compensation to the victims; and contributed to the legislation and 
law enforcement in multiple countries. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate 
all forms of human trafficking and we have made good progress so far.

We are looking for a passionate and resourceful person to work in 
Malaysia, starting February 2012 . The successful candidate will work 
with a team of volunteers under the supervision of CAMSA's Country 
Manager for Malaysia. This will be an experience of a lifetime.

JOB VACANCY

Program Coordinator / Fellow

CAMSA (Coalition to Abolish Modern-day Slavery in Asia)

CAMSA is an international coalition of non-governmental organizations 
collaboratively working to combat human trafficking in Asia. Leveraging 
the coalition member's collective expertise in the transnational crime 
of human trafficking, its partner members have built a network with 
operations in the United States of America, Canada, Germany, Malaysia, 
Taiwan and Thailand. CAMSA-Malaysia's objectives for 2012-2013 will be:

     * Build a national team with expertise in advocacy, mass education, 
and victim protection especially working with migrant Vietnamese workers 
and Vietnamese victims of trafficking;
     * Establish comprehensive case management as standard for victim 
services;
     * Expand operation to cover federal, state and cross-national 
levels; and
     * Achieve self-sustainability for CAMSA operation in Malaysia.

Program Coordinator / Fellow

The Program Coordinator is a full time position where the applicant will 
be working from the Klang Valley in Malaysia. The applicant will work 
under the supervision of the Malaysia Country Manager to successfully 
implement and carry out the program activities of CAMSA. The successful 
candidate must have a deep passion for social justice, the personal 
drive to excel, and the unrelenting commitment to teamwork.

Following are typical functions and responsibilities of the Program 
Coordinator.

Victim Services:

     * Provide comprehensive case management to identified victims;
     * Establish protocols for cross-referral of victims among service 
providers;
     * Collect lessons learned and best practices to improve case 
management model;
     * Advocate for the interests of victims before government agencies;
     * Network with service providers and government agencies to promote 
government-NGO collaboration;
     * Manage the toll-free line; and
     * Prepare and submit monthly reports on progress of case work and 
program activities.

Team Building:

     * Contribute to the team efforts in the pursuit of CAMSA's mission;
     * Uphold the strategic values of excellence, leadership, learning 
and accountability at both the individual and team levels;
     * Follow a work-plan derived from the team's execution plan;
     * Build effective working relationships among the Tenaganita and 
CAMSA; and
     * Develop social networks in support of the team's work.

Others:

     * Support the Country Manager in administrative/supportive 
functions such as:
i)        Compiling monthly financial and activities reports;
ii)      Attending meetings;
iii)    Organising or presenting at workshops; etc.
     * Carry out other temporary tasks as assigned by the Country Manager.

The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a 
combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on 
the job training:

     * A thorough understanding of generally accepted program management 
principles supported by considerable experience that would enable the 
employee apply a goal oriented, efficient and methodical approach to 
project management.
     * An undergraduate degree from a recognised university.
     * Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles and 
adequate experience in monitoring budgets.
     * Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills in 
English and/or Vietnamese.
     * Understanding in Human Rights both in a local and international 
dimension.
     * Proficient in computer applications software including Windows & 
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point).
     * Strong organisational ability along with excellent attention to 
details.
     * Skilled in examining and redrafting procedures, formulating 
policies, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
