Dear all,
Apologies for the cross-posting.
Railway Children has secured funding to evaluate a promising model of working with young people who have run away from home or care (or are at risk of doing so) in South Yorkshire. We are undertaking an open commissioning process to find the right researcher(s) to undertake this £50k project - qualitative and quantitative skills including the ability to undertake a cost-effectiveness/cost-benefit analysis will be required.
The submission deadline is 14 November 2011.
For more information and the Invitation to Tender document see: http://www.railwaychildren.org.uk/article.asp?id=1028.
Railway Children is a Cheshire-based charity which has been reaching out to street children around the world for more than 15 years, with projects in India, the UK and east Africa. Our primary aim is to change the lives of children living on the streets. In the UK we are focused on young people at risk of running away from home or care. We propose a multi-access model of support, the 'Reach model' - with refuge, detached work, prevention education and one-to-one work amongst other services - is important to ensure these young people know where to go, and can access support that is right for them. We also aim to change attitudes in the community to young runaways, and influence policy and practice. Currently we fund posts in four local projects in England and Scotland, including in the only two refuges left in the UK.
Regards,
Nicole
