Science Education Co-ordinator – BodyWorks (Outreach)
Fixed Term until 30th June 2012 (extension subject to funding)
Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland’s must-see visitor attractions. Our mission is to promote science and technology through thought provoking, fun and exciting experiences that inspire all to explore and understand the world around them.
Glasgow Science Centre is currently looking to recruit a Science Education Co-ordinator for our BodyWorks Outreach team.
The successful candidate will be required to:
• Co-ordinate and manage delivery of the BodyWorks on Tour Outreach programme at Glasgow Science Centre.
• Ensure GSC BodyWorks programmes have interesting, current and relevant content and are delivered in an
entertaining, effective, and professional manner that inspire, challenge and engage all audiences.
• Work with the Science Learning team to assist with the creation of science experiences that utilise, maximise and
encourage GSC’s mission to promote lifelong learning.
• Manage a team of Science and Senior Science Communicators to ensure consistent high level delivery and training.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A degree level qualification (teaching qualification a distinct advantage).
• An excellent knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and modern theories of learning.
• A proven track record in the development & delivery of high quality content for science experiences.
• Strong communication, organisational and presentation skills.
• Motivation and creativity to convey learning of science & technology to others.
