The School of Chemistry of the Univeristy of Mnachester wishes to appoint a Waters Chair in Mass Spectrometry who will also act as Director of the Michael Barber Centre which is located in the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre. This position results from the appointment of the previous Director, Professor Simon Gaskell, as Vice Chancellor of Queen Mary University of London. The University seeks an accomplished academic to build on the achievements of the Centre to provide strong leadership in support of its international ambitions. The appointment could be in any relevant area of mass spectrometry with specialization in novel applications and/or the development of new techniques. The position is being supported by a generous donation from Waters Corporation through its Centre for Mass Spectrometry Technology Research, Development and Manufacturing which is based in South Manchester. The salary will be on the Professorial scale.
