Free seminar on the Interpretation of Dinosaurs for non-specialist
audiences at the World Museum Liverpool
on 2nd December 2011, 10.15 to 17.20
Organised by National Museums Liverpool
and the Geological Curators Group
The seminar is intended for curators, educators, exhibition designers,
museum managers and anyone with an interest in communicating information
about dinosaurs and their kin to a general audience.
Speakers include Steve McLean, Tyne and Wear Museum Service;
Prof Michael Benton, Bristol Univ; Dr Paul Barrett, Nat Hist Mus ;
Prof John Hutchinson, Univ of London; Tim Dindjer, Planet Dinosaur,
BBC Learning; Mark Kirkby from "Be The Dinosaur"
and Jen Bloom, Los Angeles Nat Hist Museum.
The seminar will also include a performance by
Scott Wright and his seven year old T. rex
and admission to the Age of the Dinosaur exhibition
for which there is a small charge.
On the same day, 2nd Dec, we also have
Dino-Night at the Museum, a public event from 17.30 to 21.00 for
all the family, which includes a talk on the Origin of Dinosaurs
by Prof. Benton and a host of fun dino-related activities.
