Hi Jenifer,
I doubt someone randomly typed in different TRs for each of you
colleague's subjects! Presumably the images were acquired with cardiac
gating. The average TR recorded in the images would depend on the
subjects's heart rate.
There's plenty of literature on cardiac gating in DTI.
