CALL FOR PAPERS
NEW WORK IN MODERNIST STUDIES
at the Institute of English Studies, University of London, Senate House
Saturday 3 December 2011
Keynote lecturer: Professor Tim Armstrong (Royal Holloway, University of London)
Respondents: Dr Bryony Randall (University of Glasgow), Professor Andrew Thacker (De Montfort University)
The London Modernism Seminar, the Northern Modernism Seminar and the Scottish Network of Modernist Studies, in association with the British Association for Modernist Studies, will hold a one-day graduate conference on 3 December. Proposals are invited from on-course PhD students at British universities for short (ten-minute) research papers.
The conference is the first joint event of the three British modernist seminars, and provides an opportunity for those who attend the three British modernist seminars to meet each other and discover shared interests in a friendly and productive setting. Some bursaries will be available to support those travelling long distances.
The day will include time for questions and discussion of the papers by invited respondents, and will conclude with a keynote paper by Professor Tim Armstrong (Royal Holloway, University of London), and a Christmas party.
Proposals (300 words) should be sent by email to your local seminar by 23 October 2011.
