Archive Trails ... touring
Archive Trails: an innovative knowledge exchange project commissioning
new works from three contemporary musicians to mark the 60th anniversary
of the School of Scottish Studies.
Alasdair Roberts, Aileen Campbell and Wounded Knee spent three months in
residence in the School of Scottish Studies Archives in spring 2011, and
from their research they have created three very different performances,
utilising puppetry, film and song to illuminate new paths through this
extraordinary collection. This project is a collaboration with
Glasgow-based arts producers Tracer Trails, and has been designed to
cast a contemporary light on an invaluable cultural resource, opening up
the Archives to a new public through creative practice.
Join us at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh on October
16th, London Café OTO on October 23rd, or at another of our nine
performances, to see the new work for yourself. To learn more about the
project visit www.archivetrails.com where you will find blog entries
from the artists, sounds and images from the Archives and full details
of the tour.
This project is supported by Creative Scotland, the University of
Edinburgh Knowledge Exchange Grant and the University of Edinburgh
Campaign.
