ROCK SOLID? EXPO
24 March to 19 May 2012 - Kendal Museum
Artists are being invited to take part in 'Rock Solid? Expo. The
exhibition and series of events are due to take place next spring 24th
March to 19th May 2012 at Kendal Museum
Coordinator Marianne Birkby has said " this looks like being a really
exciting and interesting project and we are delighted that Julian Cooper
has agreed to be our Guest Artist".
"When a piece of land inclines toward the vertical our relationship
towards it changes. We can no longer walk on it and it cannot grow food
for us. So we either ignore it, or it becomes an aesthetic object in
itself, akin to a work of art, or as a visible record of time and weather
and geological change." JULIAN COOPER
Exhibition and series of events exploring the diversity of Lakeland's

"Expert Judgment on Markers to Deter Inadvertent Human Intrusion into the
Waste Isolation Pilot Plant"
How to communicate that the nuclear waste is dangerous, how to physically
and mentally repel intrusions in the waste area, and how to be sure that
future peoples don't ignore these warnings like we currently ignore the
curses warned of in ancient Egyptian tombs!
