Call for Papers -WCTRS - SIG10 Workshop in Vienna, Austria, 14th - 16th
March 2012 on the Topic of "Emerging Urban Transport Policies towards
sustainability"
In preparation for the 13th WCTR conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2013,
the Special Interest Group 10 - Urban Transport Policy Instruments - will
hold an intermediate Workshop where priority issues for the Rio2013- WCTR
conference will be discussed. We hope in this way to develop a structure for
the SIG10 sessions in Rio, stimulate high quality abstracts and papers in
the identified priority areas, agree on possible themes for special issues
of journals based on the best papers from Rio, and identify possible
editorial teams.
For this purpose this call for papers is launched to collect emerging,
relevant and interesting issues in the field of urban transport policy
instruments. These issues should address one or more of the following topics
(as listed in the statement of SIG10's objectives):
. experience on the performance of urban transport policy
instruments;
. good practice in the evaluation of such instruments;
. enhanced understanding of the design, implementation and
performance of such instruments;
. development of interactive learning methods in the subject area for
students, practitioners and decision makers.
The issues addressed have to be relevant at an international level and
should describe policies, strategies and best practices to mitigate urban
transport problems in developed and developing countries towards sustainable
green transport.
The decision for paper selection will be based on the submitted abstracts;
therefore the abstracts should be meaningful but not longer than 3000
characters. A decision on whether to publish the best papers from the
Workshop will be taken in the Workshop's closing session.
Steve Ison, Guenter Emberger and Tony May
The abstract for the papers should be sent to Steve Ison (
