Agree. Definitely. It may of course depend in the end on the weasely words in your regs but in principle I would look to prevent them having any award.
Best wishes

Subject: Entitlement to an Academic Award
A student has recently been withdrawn from a programme after we discovered that they had failed to provide important, materially relevant, information (and had supplied some false information) at the time of enrolment. The University made this discovery after the student had successfully completed some modules such that, if they had withdrawn in good standing they would have been entitled to an academic award.
The student has asked whether they are entitled to such an award. Our judgement is "no" as they were in breach of the University's regulations from the outset of their studies. We acknowledge that they are entitled to their marks, but that is all.
What do others think?
Thank you
Mike
