Hi all,
Thank you so much for your tips! I am looking into the options suggested.
With respect to tweaking SPM (as suggested by Torben) - is this process any different for SPM8? Does this remove the necessity of inputting the timing parameters, which I don't have since this is a resting state data set?
Thank you,
Best wishes,
Katherine

Dear Katherine
You need to tweak SPM a bit to make it save the residuals, this is described in a previous mail:
Item #29442 (31 Aug 2007 06:56) - Re: Functional Connectivity at rest -saving residuals<http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0708&L=SPM&P=R35193&I=-3&Y=torbenelund%40me.com&d=No+Match%3BMatch%3BMatches>
Regarding the designmatrix just specify an fMRI model without adding a condition and insert the motion parameters under multiple regressors (see screenshot). Here you can also specify the HP filter you wish to use.
Best
Torben

Hi all,
I would like to regress out the motion parameters from resting state data. I have the motion parameters from pre-processing. Is this possible to do in SPM with resting state data - it seems SPM only allows this with a first level analysis, which appears to require blocked or event related designs? If it is possible, how can this be done? If not, does anyone have a recommendation of a program with which to do this?
Thank you for helping,
Best,
Katherine
