Qualitative Research for Policy Making: 3rd Annual Conference

Following our successful consecutive conferences in Belfast (2011) and Malta (2010), we are pleased to announce that the 3rd annual conference on Qualitative Research for Policy Making 2012 will be held on the 24-25 May 2012 in Lisbon, Portugal.
This highly interactive, cross-disciplinary conference will bring together top policy researchers and practitioners to discuss best practices for delivering qualitative research for policy making. This event is co-organised by the Merlien Institute and the University Institute of Lisbon.
Topics of interest may include, but not limited to:
Using mixed research methods (qualitative & quantitative) to support policy making
2014 Research Excellence Framework: criteria for assessing the quality of qualitative research
UK Coalition Policies: emphasis on evidence informed/based policy or a move away from this?
Understanding policy making processes: how to engage and connect in policy environments
How does the reduction in public funding impact how research tenders are awarded?
Ensuring effective collaboration when dealing with highly complex research projects
Developing strategies to convince stakeholders of the validity of qualitative research findings
