Project Archivist
Salary: £30,350 - £35,674 (grade 4)
A qualified Archivist is sought to undertake work for the Constance Maynard Archives Digitisation Project. This project will make unpublished writings of Miss Maynard (1849-1935), first Principal of Westfield College and pioneer in the field of higher education for women, available on the web for the first time. This material includes diaries, poetry and an unpublished autobiography and spans 19th and 20th centuries.
Applicants for this post should have an honours degree or equivalent, a postgraduate qualification in archives administration or equivalent and experience of working with collections in an archive service. Experience of archives digitisation projects is desirable.
The post is part time and funded by charitable funds for 6 months. The working hours will be 17.5 hours per week. Working days and times will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10am to 5pm, and Thursdays, 10am to 4.30pm. Starting salary will be in the range £30,350 - £35,674 per annum (pro rata to hours worked) inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro rata), final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
