Speaking as someone who chose the other path, and had a child quite young, I'd like to point out that having a child without the right support, with a violent partner, for example, is associated with mental suffering.
I wish those who judge without experience would put as much effort into helping women and children practically as they do judging them. If they did there might be more people who feel they have the support they need to raise the children the judgers say they want to protect.
