A white clockwork dove is being hurled round,
and, further yet, round; chaotically,
although orbiting itself; would be stillness
no more abstract than the innate desire
to be not moving; and never ceasing
from this now improper aspiration
as mechanism loosens dynamic torque --
while its upside down a moment, there seems
to wax chromatic inversion,
some cut out, collaged upon wide greyscale,
before colour and its bee noise and dots and lines
in a depth of field ha-ha-ed upon matt stock –
bending grass when it hits, apparently
bouncing, rolling in the air, delinquent
and erratic to expectation –
anxiety
gasping and sucking in last short flutters
of concern; and hope twitching its energy
until it finds no more.
There’s none.
It’s done.
