Dear Colleagues
Reminder: Call for papers.
62nd Political Studies Association Annual International Conference
In Defence of Politics
3 - 5 April 2012
Europa Hotel Belfast
Deadline: Friday 30th September 2011
The 62nd Political Studies Association Annual Conference is to be held in Belfast, and the Association’s Media and Politics Group (the MPG) will again be providing its own stream of panels, for which we invite proposals. The conference is titled “In Defence of Politics”, with some of following broad themes suggested:
• In Praise of Politics and Why We Hate Politics
• Ethics and Politics
• Conflict and Conciliation
• The People's Politics
• Politics: Looking Back or Looking Forward
• Leaders and Authority; Citizens and Consumerism
While papers dealing with any aspect of media and politics will be considered, preference may be given to those that relate debates in media and politics to these themes.
Proposals should include the following: title and name, institutional affiliation and address, and preferred email address; together with, a paper title and abstract of not more than 200 words; and, whether or not you are a postgraduate student. Please note that all abstracts over the 200 word limit will be rejected.
Proposals should be sent on or before Friday 30th September 2011 to Dr Michael Higgins. Please note that this is an earlier deadline than for non-MPG submissions and that late abstracts will not be considered.
In common with previous years, abstracts submitted for the MPG stream will be subject to two levels of peer review. In addition, the PSA have a policy of limiting panels to one postgraduate student.
With good wishes
Michael Higgins
