Hi All,
You may have noticed recently several tweets from @talisaspire (http://twitter.com/#!/talisaspire) highlighting some interesting lists - as in the cases below from Portsmouth and QMUL.
- #talisaspire resource list of the week. QMUL http://t.co/N402meKY. Lots of structure & learning context from the lecturer #studentexperience (from http://twitter.com/talisaspire/statuses/118598005053071360)
- If we had a #TalisAspire list of the week, it would be this from Portsmouth bit.ly/qM8wAP. Structure & context. #studentexperience
We'd like to continue this practice and promote good lists, or examples of good list practice, on a regular basis. To do this, I'd like to invite you to nominate some suggestions from your own institution with your reasons why.
A good list is one that is easy for the student to navigate, understand context, access resources easily and ultimately learn more effectively from. So the list may exhibit one or more of these traits:
- Context: Rich study notes on individual resources, as well as section notes to provide context for a resource grouping. May include free-form notes, featuring handbook content such as learning objectives.
- Structure: List is organised by topic, theme or time (e.g. week, lectures, terms) - or a combination of all three. May include problem-based learning resources or assignments.
- Resource Mix: Drawing from a broad range of available resource types. May include Pages, and a mix of physical/electronic content including previews and related content.
- Item importance: Consistent use of item importance.
Just drop me or Mark an email, or share it here, and we'll aim to promote a broad mix of examples from different customers over the coming months.
Thanks
Ian
