Dear Donna and Andy,
Endnote Web now seems to offer some of the functionality Zotero has had for years. Nevertheless, I'd strongly recommend the Open Source package Zotero over proprietary software such as Endnote Web - simply because it is more future proof:
As an Open Source package Zotero does not depend on any kind of subscription
Zotero has better overall compatibility:
choice of browser plug-in and standalone versions, each for Mac, Linux and Windows platforms
word processor plug-ins for OpenOffice/LibreOffice/NeoOffice as well as Microsoft Office
import/export functions for numerous formats
Zotero comes with rich functionality which can be further enhanced with plug-ins (and if you had institution-specific needs, you could write your own plug-in!)
Zotero allows data syncing via their servers, free of charge
Why burden yourself with a subscription when a perfectly good Open Source alternative exists?
Best regards
Gerhard
