We are seeking to recruit a recently graduated individual to provide GIS input to projects, encompassing elements of map production including digitising, data entry and some geographic data analysis. The role will be based in our London Office (Liverpool Street) initially for a period of 6 months.
Brief job spec set out below.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A GIS or similar degree (at 2:1 or above)
MSc in GIS or other GIS based qualification / experience
An A’ level in Maths or Physics would be advantageous
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10 and extensions would be beneficial
Practical experience of using databases with MS Access, MS Excel and knowledge of other GIS and CAD software packages, would all be advantageous
Technical skills/knowledge:
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Competence in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Is up to date with latest technological advances in the field
Self motivated with initiative and ability to learn new skills on the job
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Meticulous attention to detail
Knowledge of spatial data standards
Knowledge of using Geodatabases, data cleansing, quality checking of data.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
