Dear Leslie,
I think you misunderstand what the outputs can show you.
The regression of the EVs with the data highlight what
matches the EV and it might seem like quite a small
component of the data. Each different EV normally
highlights a different thing. It is only the statistics that
ask questions of your data, and the filtered_func is normally
not something you would look at except to check for
artefacts. The filtered_func data certainly does not
"highlight" anything of interest.
