Technology Enhanced Collaborative Learning
A 1-day workshop from JISC Netskills
Thursday 3 November 2011
09:30 - 16:00
Netskills Training Suite, Herschel Building, Newcastle University
Book today: http://bit.ly/qkVzxa
This practical and informative workshop explores how to use collaborative tools to achieve greater levels of student satisfaction, engagement and retention and enhance the communication between learners and their lecturers and tutors.
Students today have increasingly high expectations about how technology can support their studies. Many will come to your institution already armed with their own web-enabled devices and fluent in the use of social networking.
The workshop is aimed at anyone working in an educational organisation, looking for ideas, solutions and ways in which they can deliver a fully supported, student experience to remember. During the day you'll examine case studies, try out a range of tools, explore the pitfalls (& how to avoid them) when using collaborative technologies. You'll leave the workshop with new skills, tools and ideas to apply in your institution!
Topics:
Blogs, wikis and beyond: Using collaborative tools for group work
The different choices available for improving communication between learners and teaching staff.
Exploring examples of effective practice
How to manage effective online communication with your learners
Helping distance and placement learners get the most out your teaching
This workshop forms part of a wider programme running in London and Newcastle, for more information on dates, topics, prices and locations see our website: http://bit.ly/qJBqq4
We look forward to welcoming you on a Netskills workshop soon!
Thanks
Lisa
