The Centre for Systems Biology at Edinburgh, CSBE, has three positions open.
Information on CSBE at www.csbe.ed.ac.uk. Please apply online only, and for
full information, use the links for each position below.
(1) Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioinformatics, closing 12 Sept 11
http://www.jobs.ed.ac.uk/vacancies/index.cfm?fuseaction=vacancies.detail&vac
ancy_ref=3014780
A Postdoctoral Research Associate to research the signalling network of the
pico-alga, Ostreococcus tauri, as we develop this model species for plant
systems biology. The post builds upon CSBE's exciting results identifying a
non-transcriptional mechanism that contributes to the biological clock in
the alga and also in human cells (O'Neill et al. Nature 2011), and the first
shotgun proteomics (LeBihan et al. J. Proteomics, 2011). Informal enquiries

(2) Project Manager, closing 12 Sept 11
http://www.jobs.ed.ac.uk/vacancies/index.cfm?fuseaction=vacancies.detail&vac
ancy_ref=3014781
The post offers an active role in steering a major new EU-funded project,
TiMet, to a position of international leadership in its field, specifically
in delivering effective project management. The Edinburgh project node will
be based in the Centre for Systems Biology at Edinburgh, CSBE, under CSBE
Director, Professor Andrew Millar. TiMet assembles world leaders in
experimental and theoretical plant systems biology to understand the
regulatory interactions between the clock gene circuit and plant metabolism,
and their emergent effects on whole-plant growth and productivity
(http://www.timing-metabolism.eu/). Informal enquiries to [log in to unmask]
(3) Postdoctoral Research Associate in Data Infrastructure Development,
closing 22 Sept 11
http://www.jobs.ed.ac.uk/vacancies/index.cfm?fuseaction=vacancies.detail&vac
ancy_ref=3014813
A Postdoctoral Research Associate to develop research data infrastructure at
an exciting time, as we open new aspects of our infrastructure to external
users. The post builds upon the significant opportunities offered by a new
EU-funded project, TiMet, and a major UK project, ROBuST. We are developing
unique, integrated software tools that use web services to link experimental
data with analytical tools and systems modelling. The post-holder will be
responsible for infrastructure development, including research application
development in Java. Informal enquiries to [log in to unmask]
