Yes I'd agree with that way of framing the crowley text -
and especially like your insight into the denying of authorship -
(although some practitioners will object - as they like to think he
was a real live conduit to the gods of new aeon) -
ascribing authorship to a supernatural being or famous magi would be a
very Egyptian way of framing things -
Egyptian magical books oftenhave this kind of testimonial -
this in continues in magick upto the european renaissance when
authorship became more important ?
