The big difference is whose name is given on the work. I am one person of many here who teach and mark students work and I suspect you are going to get some very negative remarks over this.

It's not really the same as being hired to run a ceremony. As the writer I am just a bit player in the game. Hiring the company to get someone to write your thesis is a bit like hiring an MC for your ritual though- perhaps. The thing that I am interested in is the writing, not necessarily what is written.
Coincidentally, as a ceremonial magician I was asked to run a Sabbat for a pagan group a while ago but declined because I am not really a pagan and my particular sort of practice doesn't have a celebration equivalent to Beltane.
