CILIP Career Development Group UK National Conference
'The practical professional'
Calling all Career Development Group members (and non members) who have been in the profession for five years or more, we are asking for presentation proposals for the UK National Conference to be held on Monday 21st November 2011, at Future Inn, Bristol.
We welcome papers sharing experiences and exploring issues relevant to the overall theme: The practical professional, including:
• Making a splash - how you have developed your service
• Internet marketing - what works and what doesn’t
• Keeping motivated during challenging times
• Being a career chameleon – how to adapt to a changing landscape
This conference is organised by the Career Development Group, a special interest group of CILIP: The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
There will be a prize for the best paper, as voted for by delegates on the day. A selection of papers will be published in Impact, the group’s journal.
The group will refund speaker travel fees and overnight accommodation (if required) so consider taking advantage of this excellent opportunity for continuing professional development!
Deadlines:
• Proposals (no longer than 300 words) must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 23rd September 2011. Speakers should be aiming to fill approximately 20 minutes of the programme with their paper. Proposals should be submitted to the group by email at [log in to unmask]
• Authors of accepted proposals will be contacted by Friday 30th September 2011.
• Completed presentations and full papers must be submitted by Monday 7th November 2011.
