Because of the increasing workload Information Research needs a couple of
additional volunteers for the copy-editing role.
If you are interested in the idea of getting a first look at papers to be
published, and in helping the authors to present their work effectively, and
in accordance with the author instructions and the journal style and you
have good English language skills (British English, not American English)
then I'd be happy to hear from you.
In the first instance I'd send along a trial document for you to work on,
just to see how you do and whether or not you enjoy the rather nit-picking
work involved. The task suits people with an eye for detail and a feeling
for the English language - we try to ensure that the texts are not only
accurate, but readable, and this sometimes involves telling authors that
they need to re-write bits and pieces. So, there's more than
straightforward copy-editing in the sense of correction involved here.
