Essential Medical Statistics (12 - 16 September 2011)
This course is designed for health care professionals or graduate students who already have some research experience and an understanding of basic statistical principles, and who wish to develop their statistical expertise. The sessions will be taught informally and interactively and will emphasise the practical application of statistical methods to real-life problems, rather than statistical theory. An understanding of the basic concepts is expected. The sessions will include time for students to explore and analyse data using a statistical package (SPSS). Teaching is led by Dr Richard Stevens, Senior Statistician at the Department of Primary Health Care.
