Abstract
Like many other natural disasters of recent years, the Japan Disaster took a toll on human life and local environments that extends far beyond the imagination. Unlike other recent disasters however, the Japan Disaster also had a measurable and significant impact on the global economy and numerous industries around the world. Introducing a foundation of the supply chain, this talk will then review the reported impact of the disaster(s) on the supply chain, and follow this with a proposed set of learnings that may be useful to supply chain practitioners in the future.
