Before you do that, it might be good to check the BDII config in
/opt/bdii/etc/bdii.conf
Ours has additional lines at the end that look like this:
# Tweak to use SA-1 openldap24
SLAPD=/opt/openldap2.4/sbin/slapd
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/openldap2.4/lib64
which make the BDII use the 2.4 ldap bits instead of the system
ones. If you have that, then I don't think that the presence of
the other openldap packages should be a problem, and if you
don't then removing them might be.
