Dear all,
A new postgraduate diploma course in the Psychology of Conflict will be taking place in the near future (directed by Dr. Masi Noor - Canterbury Christ Church University):
The course will draw mainly on social psychological theories and empirical work. The first part of the course will cover insights into the causes and impact of conflict, critically discussing the processes involved in issues around identity, emotions, cognitions/perceptions, conflict-spurring behaviours, prejudice, discrimination, etc. The second part will focus on the recent psychological models of conflict resolution and reconciliation. Issues discussed here will range from the psychological understanding of trust, empathy, communication, power, resentment, forgiveness, victimhood and 'perpetratorhood'. Additionally, in each session students will be introduced to opportunities to learn practical skills in conflict mediation and dispute resolution.
To gauge the public interest in such a course, it would be greatly appreciated if you could take 2 minutes to read through the link below and forward it to anyone to whom it may also be of interest.
