Well, perhaps "galore" is an exaggeration, but to celebrate the
relaunch of our discussion forum
(http://www.psypag.co.uk/forumpress/), we do have a couple of
competitions for you!
Firstly, we'd like you to suggest a theme tune for your research! Pick
a song which best expresses your topic area, and, if possible, link to
a Youtube video or quote the relevant lyrics in a response to the
Theme Tune Competition post
(http://www.psypag.co.uk/forumpress/?vasthtmlaction=viewtopic&t=13.0).
The best suggestion gets a £20 Amazon voucher, and a runner-up will
receive a £5 voucher.
Secondly, to kick-start the discussion here, we're giving away a £20
Amazon voucher, and a £5 runner-up, for the best post made here. This
will be judged partly on the quality of the post and partly on the
amount of discussion it provokes, so don't be afraid to bring up those
fascinating but controversial news stories, or mention a piece of
surprising research you've read about! Anything science- and
specifically psychology-related is fine. To enter, hit "New Topic" in
the General Forum area.
To be eligible, you must be a PsyPAG member; that is, you must be
registered on a post-graduate course in psychology or any
sub-discipline (including professional doctorates) at a UK
institution. You'll also need to register for the forum, but this only
takes a minute, and all details will be treated confidentially. Both
competitions are open until the end of September, so you've got time
to come up with something good; keep checking back for inspiration and
get involved in the discussion! Multiple entries are allowed, although
anything resembling spam will be removed. We'll announce the winners
and send out the prizes at the beginning of October.
If you have any suggestions for improving the Forum or any other part
of the website, or if there are any books you'd recommend adding to
our Amazon store (http://astore.amazon.co.uk/p031-21), please drop me
a line, we want to make the site as useful to you as possible!
All the best,
Hester
