Ha, Chris, I'd just tell them this, & they'll at least know you could have been there<g>.
Seems strange, as theyre asking for poems, so I would have thought this referred to publishing in poetry mags, etc...
But at some point, surely a good editor will look at what's in front of her & if it's really good (to that editor) take it....
