An underground incline was constructed in the early nineteenth century at the
Maes-y-safn lead mine. It ran from surface and was used for haulage. The
Taylors extended it after they took over the mine in 1861.
The nearby Coed Cynric lead mine is also known to have an underground incline.
It was re-entered by the Denbighshire Consolidated Mines in the 1870s. There are
no known plans of this mine. It was never operated by the Taylors.
