Dear colleagues,
Some colleagues and I are holding a workshop on Saturday 10th September
that may be of interest to you, entitled 'Insular Economics: Ireland in the
Eleventh and Twelfth Centuries' (details below and poster enclosed), and I
was wondering if you would be willing to forward the enclosed advertisement
to your departmental/institutional mailing lists?
Thank you on behalf of the organising committee.
Yours sincerely,
Andy Woods ([log in to unmask]).
'Insular Economics' is a one-day workshop - hosted by the McDonald
Institute for Archaeological Research and the Department of Anglo-Saxon,
Norse and Celtic (ASNC) - which will be dedicated to exploring the
economies and economics of Early Medieval Ireland and their wider Insular
contexts.
Papers by early career researchers from Britain and Ireland will explore
topics such as numismatics, exchange networks, administrative documentary
traditions, settlements, environmental impact and the application of
theoretical economic models.
The workshop will take place in the McDonald Institute for Archaeological
Research, Cambridge on Saturday 10th September and attendance is free.
Places are limited, so please contact one of the coordinators (Denis Casey
[log in to unmask]; Russell Ó Ríagáin [log in to unmask] or Andy Woods
[log in to unmask]) to register. More details may be found on the 'Events'
section of the Department of ASNC website (http://www.asnc.cam.ac.uk).
