Dear Kath
Here at Leeds University Library we have been using Captivate in various ways. We have used Captivate video in our online Library Guide to show users how to use the Library catalogue http://skills.library.leeds.ac.uk/libraryguide/player.html (under Finding and Borrowing). We have also used it to demonstrate EndNote in an online tutorial http://skills.library.leeds.ac.uk/tutorials/endnote. Some of our Librarians are also currently involved in developing online teaching resources which will include Captivate videos to show how to search in databases which will be available in a few weeks.
Our learning technologist has also used Captivate to create other types of resources apart from screen captures. She used Captivate to create the following resource http://skills.library.leeds.ac.uk/plagiarism/captivate/referencing_ex/.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
Michelle

Subject: Use of Captivate in creating user guides for database
Hello all
We have recently been given access to the Captivate software for creating e-learning. We are very keen to put this to use for creating starter guides to various databases. Is there anyone out there who has already used Captivate for this purpose who would be willing to share their experiences with me?
Kind regards
Kath Osborn
