Apologies for cross posting, forwarded on behalf of Forum for
Interlending:
Subject: FIL Committee Vacancy
Dear all,
Following the recent AGM in Durham of The Forum for Interlending, our
Committee is now running a little under strength - in that we have a
vacancy for an ordinary committee member to be co-opted onto the
Committee for the next 12 months. As we try and balance the sectors of
committee members where possible we are especially interested to hear
from anyone working in the public or governmental interlending
communities whom might be interested. Committee members come from all
career stages and levels of experience in interlending.
Being a FIL committee member is a valuable developmental and training
activity. It is also an opportunity to work closely with a number of
leading interlending staff from various walks of life. Activities
include helping to plan for and run events, contribute to discussions on
relevant issues and generally further the cause of interlending
throughout the UK. Co-opted members join until the next AGM, where they
are encouraged to formally stand for election to the Committee for a 2
year tour of duty.
Committee membership normally only requires attendance at 3 committee
meetings annually; normally held in Birmingham[1], and occasional
telcons. Expenses are paid for attendance at these, and for any events
we run where Committee members are acting as facilitators. Committee
members must belong to FIL membership organisations, or be personal
members of FIL themselves[2].
If you'd like to find out more, or to put your name forward please
contact myself or our Membership Secretary Helen[3] or indeed any
current member of the Committee[4]!
We're looking forward to working with you!
Gareth
