The Rhythm Changes conference kicks off tomorrow night and runs through to Sunday in Amsterdam. An international line up of scholars will meet to discuss their jazz research, share their jazz ideas, and listen to jazz music.
The conference will be covered online in some detail at our website (www.rhythmchanges.net) and there's lots of information there about who's speaking, when they're scheduled and so on... as well as behind-the-scenes video and interviews with the performers, speakers, presenters and organisers.
Go have a look - there's already lots of interesting stuff, including a sneak preview of the band Tin Men and the Telephone, whose technology-infused acoustic trio will be launching the event at the Bimhuis tomorrow night.
Over the course of the conference (and beyond), we'll be using Twitter to keep people in touch with what's going on and we'd love you to join in the conversation if you're about (or better still... even if you're not about and just want to join in).
If you're already on Twitter, send us a message (@rhythmchanges) and we'll follow you. If you're planning to attend the conference, we'd be really interested in your comments, and any links to photos, blog posts or anything else you happen to create while you're here. We're going to be keeping an eye on the #rhythmchanges hashtag if you have anything to say arising from the conference.
If you're not on Twitter, but have been thinking about it, this would be the ideal opportunity.
If you're on Facebook, you may be interested to note that we have a page there too.
If you're at (or at least have an interest in) our conference, our project and jazz research in general - we would like you to get in touch.
