Hi all
Any thoughts around the FDA recent release suggesting dose limits for
patients on things such as amlodipine (keep simva to 20mg) and verapamil
(keep simva to 10mg).
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm256581.htm
Someone here is calling in folks and reducing their doses or simvastatin if
on amlodipine/verapamil etc over this. I am not really up on the
evidence.....but I am wondering about the logic of changing in folks who
are stable with in-target lipids and no myopathy (often on same regime for
years....and often older, and thus for whom
chopping and changing meds may be hazardous/disruptive).
Advice from the assembled wisdom please?
