The workshop explores the significance of networks as a guide and as a limit of communication within and between remote communities. By connecting two groups via web applications, we examine access and connection between the groups, the ‘social’ structure that is being created within and between the groups and what channels of communication digital technology promotes.
The workshop calls for 10 artists: performers, designers, technicians, program developers or any other creative performance artist. The workshop examines web applications as mean of communication that enable groups feel closer. First we will create two small communities and establish an exchange of 2-4 minutes. We will bring out the experience of the two groups which will lead to suggestions and developments of the exchange. We will conclude the workshop with few more 2-4 minutes exchanges that will be suggested in the discussion.
