Everyone,
Please forgive me for going here, but Auntie's Story, while brilliant, does little to discuss the efforts of people of color to help mold the BBC. If you do choose to use it, please supplement it with the docs Black and White in Colour and the Black and White Media Show. Portions of each provide a bit more texture and offer some degree of multi ethnicity.

Is this available on DVD, do you know? It sounds like it might be useful to many of us.

Hi Michele
I use one called 'Auntie's Story' (1997) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1276503/. The first episode ('The House That Reith Built') and second ('Growing Pains') are great for showing students - plenty of programme clips and interviews with key personnel.
Cheers
Jamie

Subject: [BBC-HISTORY] documentary on history of BBC?
Hello all -- A colleague just asked: is there a good documentary on
the history of the BBC, especially the early decades, that I can show
in my class? I was surprised that I couldn't think of one.
Is there? Or any other suggestions?
Many thanks -- Michele
