The Library and Museum of Freemasonry has a collection of c.70 popular and light tune sheet music that is surplus to requirements.
The sheet music includes compilations and single editions of popular tunes and contemporary light classics once used for entertaining a London-based Lodge c. 1880's to 1920's.
Highlights include:
Ye Banks and Braes, c.1897
As Your Hair Grows Whiter by Harry Dacre, c.1897
It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, c.1912
The Jolly Dogs Polka by C.H.R. Marriott
Look For the Silver Lining by Jerome Kern, 1920
We would like to ensure this music goes to a good home where it could be made accessible - it would be difficult for us to split the collection. Some items are in poor condition but a full listing of the titles, composers and publishers with any relevant dates provides a good overview - a full list is available from me at the e-mail address below.
It could be collected by taxi if claimed by a london-based repository or the collection could be sent to any other relevant UK-based respository - postage and packing costs to be covered by the recipient.
A full list of titles is available on request if you are interested.
I look forward to hearing from you,
with best wishes
Susan
