Dear all,
I would like to ask your views on the following as texts seem a little vague...the question refers to the 2 sample t-test and the paired t test. The methods are, of course, basic but I would like to ask about the intracies of the data set-up.
1) Say we are looking at word recall and we decide to compare 2 groups. We conduct a 2 sample t-test. There are n people in group 1 and m people in group 2. Say group 1 is the control group and members of group 2 have been trained in a special technique. My question is - does each subject (in both groups) have to be given the same group of words to recall?
2) Say we are testing that picture rating differs depending on whether it is a sunny or a rainy day. This time we choose to conduct a paired t-test. We have n sets of twins. One of each twin rates on a sunny day, the other twin rates on a rainy day. My question is - does each set of twins have to be given the same pictures i.e. is the same picture given to all of the n sets of twins on the rainy day and on the sunny day?
Thanks so much for your views,
All the Best,
Kim
