Job Title: Senior Medical Statistician/Analyst
Grade: Band 7
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: NYCRIS (Northern and Yorkshire Cancer Registry and
Information Service), St James's Institute of Oncology, St James's
University Hospital.
Cancer registries are facing many challenges to meet the information demands
of the national cancer agenda against a backdrop of a changing NHS and wider
public sector. NYCRIS requires a motivated senior medical
statistician/analyst to help deliver a first class service locally and
nationally. This post is suitable for anyone who has previously worked in
public health analysis and/or epidemiology. It provides an excellent
opportunity to contribute to the changing agenda of cancer services and
ongoing epidemiological research. The post will be involved in providing
expert statistical input and advice relating to all NYCRIS cancer
information outputs including reports, scientific papers and electronic
products, and will play a key role in an ongoing programme of
epidemiological research. There will be involvement in all aspects of
project design and analysis, both in-house and collaborative, which utilise
NYCRIS data.
Applications will be considered from anyone with a postgraduate
qualification in Medical Statistics or equivalent with a minimum of two
years relevant experience. Good communication skills and the ability to work
within a multidisciplinary team are essential. This post provides an
excellent opportunity to work with researchers from a leading local
University, with which an honorary contract would be arranged.
