I have a feeling it's best to stick to CMS for 'content management
system' as it's what the rest of the world/ICT sector uses, and
spell-out 'collections management system' in full (or find another
acronym, I've used CollMS in the past but it's a bit clunky). I guess
ultimately it depends on audience - e.g. whether internal documents
would ever be used by non-museum specialists.
