Dear Jackie,
The Wellcome Collection would also be worth a look: www.wellcome.ac.uk/images
There is a "Prices" heading, but the good news is: "Images on this site are freely available for download for personal, academic teaching or study use, under one of two Creative Commons licences."
Best wishes,
Nicola

Subject: Medical images in art
Dear Colleagues,
One of our doctors is looking for some images to illustrate a lecture he is giving.
He wants images of people with neuralgia/facial pain as depicted in paintings or sculpture over the centuries. He does not want diagrams or photographic images.
Can anyone point me in the direction of any sources of such images?
Thanks in anticipation,
Jackie Oliver
