Lecturer in German
Fixed term for 3 years from September 2011
Applications are invited for a Lecturer in German in the School of
Modern Languages and Cultures. The post is available from September
2011. The appointee will be expected to teach modules relating to
their specialist area in addition to contributing to team-taught
studies modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You
will also be able to demonstrate a capacity for original research
that complements our existing research specialisms and commensurate
with submission to REF 2014.
With a completed PhD in the broad area of German Studies and a native
or near-native command of both German and English, the appointee will
be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills and a range of
delivery techniques and assessment methods in both language and non-
language classes at all levels of both undergraduate and postgraduate
programmes in German. You will also be developing a high-quality
publication profile and will be able to contribute to the research
culture of the subject area, School and Faculty.
