Advocating for Archives and Records
If you can’t attend the whole conference this year have you

Conference, we are offering a range of workshops on Thursday 1st
September. Titles include:

● Principles of access to archives: the ICA discussion
● Advocacy in practice: practical tools for recordkeepers
● Cloud computing: a risk and governance approach
● Proving your community impact (on a shoestring): family, school
and adult learning events in archives
● Digitising and providing online access to records
● ARA and continuing professional development
● Developing partnerships, remodelling relationships, embracing
change

Over three days a range of interesting speakers will offer practical
tips on how archives and records professionals can best advocate their
skills and expertise. The programme is directly relevant to archivists
and records managers working in a range of sectors.
We appreciate that in this financial climate it can be difficult to
attend the whole programme but we are offering very competitive day
rates. Cheap flights and train tickets are still available and a trip to
Edinburgh is guaranteed to be beneficial both professionally and
