The easiest way (I think) is to do something like create a directory called "discard", and move the first 4 images into it.
Yes you're correct about taking the 5th scan as t=0.

Subject: Re: [SPM] error trials and discarding scans
Hi,
This seems like such a basic question but I've trawled through the web trying to find out if there is an alternative way of "censoring" the first x scans (e.g. in AFNI, you can specify a list of TRs to censor from the analysis) rather than deleting them/moving them out of SPM's processing reach? Matlab script solutions more than welcome!
If deleting the scans is the only way to go about this, I assume that I need to adjust my SOAs so that, e.g. if I discarded the first 4 scans, rather than taking the first scan as t = 0, I take the 5th scan as t = 0?
Thanks in advance!!
