Dear SPM users,
I have a problem with simpel coregistration (estimate only) of anatomical 3D-Datasets to functional mean images. Both datasets are whole brain and of good quality and aquired in the same session. To test the coregistration I reoriented the anatomical image a little bit (moved it upward by 5 mm and pitched it by about 3 degrees).
The coregistration in SPM8 (normalized mutual information) totaly failed: The anatomical dataset was moved downwards by about 12 mm and overtilted backwards by a couple of degrees.
Coregistration in SPM5 worked very fine. I also converted the data to SPM2-(img/hdr/mat)-format, and tried the same thing with spm2 and there it also worked fine. Just another strange thing: If I look at the SPM2 output in check-reg from SPM2 it looks very fine, If I look at the same data with check-reg from spm8, there is a shift between anatomical and functional data.
I have two postscripts to show the problem, that I can upload if anybody is interested.
If somebody has an idea, what goes wrong with the SPM8 coregistration, please let me know. I used the search function, but did not find anybody reporting the same problem.
Thanks,
Wolfgang
